Since I first suspected neurodivergence in my family and had my own ‘lightbulb moment’, I have read lots of books which helped me inform myself (hyperfocus anyone?). Books have always been a huge love of mine, both for education and enjoyment. As a neurodiversity coach, I firmly believe that understanding is crucial for acceptance.
Some of my recommended reads are full of tips and ways to manage neurodivergent traits; some are compelling memoirs about pre-diagnosis and the journey towards awareness. Reading someone else's story and identifying with it can be powerfully validating. I hope these recommendations can help other people on their own journey of awareness.
